Residence Hall Renovations
The project involved designing renovations for 14 gang bathrooms in East and Main Campbell student residence halls located around the drill field of Virginia Tech. The bathrooms in the approximately 80 year old buildings were gutted and rebuilt. Additionally, an ADA compliant bathroom was designed to enhance accessibility within one of the buildings. Several shower room concrete floor slabs were removed due to structural failure and replaced with new concrete slabs and appropriate structural members. Existing kitchens were also gutted and rebuilt to high standards. Additionally, improvements were made to 170 student rooms to include new lavatories, refurbished wood casework, light fixtures and other finishes. Sustainable and Energy efficient fixtures and finishes were specified throughout all phases of the work.
