multipurpose room + reading room
The former microfiche storage area of Virginia Tech’s Newman Library was converted into a modern, assembly space for Library and University use. Extensive A/V accommodations were accounted for and contemporary wood paneling systems were used to highlight certain components of the design. The Reading room adjacent to the Presentation space received a major facelift to an otherwise eyesore of a space that was under utilized and dated. The new work included carpet tile flooring, paint, LED lighting, wood paneling systems, and HVAC. Sustainable and energy efficient fixtures and finishes were specified throughout.
